I currently teach for the IMPRS neural circuits program of the Max Planck Society. I also teach statistics for animal researchers in FELASA C courses. At the University of Amsterdam I have served as a course lecturer in systems neuroscience and signal processing for many years. We always welcome Master and Bachelor students for internships, from various disciplines.

I support Open Science and post preprints on Biorxiv. I am a main developer of the Spike Toolbox in FieldTrip and plan to contribute a new open source toolbox in the coming years.

I am always happy to review papers. Over the years I reviewed for many journals, including:
Systems Neuroscience: Cell, Neuron, Cell Reports, PloS Biology, PNAS, Current Biology, Cerebral Cortex, Nature Communications, Trends in Cognitive Sciences, eLife, Journal of Neuroscience, eNeuro, Journal of Neurophysiology, Scientific Reports, Brain Research, Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, Frontiers in Decision Making, Frontiers in Systems Neuroscience, European Journal of Neuroscience, Philosophical Transactions B, Brain Topography, Psychopharmacology, Hippocampus.

Computational Neuroscience and Methods: PLoS Computational Biology, NeuroImage, Neuroreports, Journal of Neuroscience Methods, IEEE Transactions in Information Theory, IEEE Transactions in Industrial Informatics, Entropy, Neural Computation, Journal of Neuroscience Methods, Journal of Computational Neuroscience, Network: Computation in Neural Systems, Cognitive Computation, Cosyne Meeting.
